Best Way to Spend Your Days at Stanford Sierra

Our suggestions for the best way to spend a three-day event at Stanford Sierra Conference Center.

The Stanford Sierra boat dock nestled on beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake.

Day 1

Paddle or hike – Plan to arrive at 3pm check in time. Hopefully, your meeting doesn’t start until day two! Get settled in your cabin, then head to the boat dock for some time on the water! Use of stand up paddle boards, kayaks, peddle boats, rowboats and sailboats is included in our full meeting package. If you need to stretch your legs, the Lower Falls is a short walk away, or ask at the front desk for more strenuous hiking options.

Stop in at the Fountain, our onsite store, for a latte, snack, glass of wine or a beer.

Socialize on the lake – Many groups hold pre-dinner social hours. The Old Lodge deck is the best place to enjoy some hors d’oeuvres, sodas, beer and wine before heading up to the dining room for dinner.

Waterfront dining – Sunset is the best time to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Chef Dave and his staff. The dining room features plenty of natural light and views of Fallen Leaf Lake.

Beach bonfire with s’mores – You are at Camp! Take advantage and schedule a bonfire at Baby Beach. It’s a great icebreaker activity for your group and we can provide the bonfire and s’mores fixings!

Day 2

Sunrise yoga in the Cathedral Room – Sun salutations with the sunrise over Fallen Leaf Lake as the backdrop is the best way to start the day!

Breakfast in the dining room – Whether you prefer sweet, savory, or both for your breakfast, our buffet will satisfy the heartiest appetite!

Morning meeting – First things first! If you’re here on business, take care of it before scheduling fun in the afternoon.

BBQ lunch – There is outdoor seating on the dining room deck or we can set up a BBQ lunch right in front of the lodge on the lakefront!

Guided hike – If the agenda allows, take the afternoon off to explore the Fallen Leaf Lake area. We can schedule a staff member or two to lead a hike. Or enjoy the boats from the boat dock.

Social hour on the Old Lodge deck – Bring your group back together to compare afternoon adventures. In cooler weather, move into the Old Lodge to enjoy the stone fireplace and comfortable furniture, or for large groups, the Cathedral Room also features a fireplace.

Dinner in the dining room – Maybe add an interactive dessert activity team cupcake or cookie decorating?

Disco bingo! – Disco bingo is an annual tradition during our Stanford alumni summer camp. Encourage your guests to bring their finest 1970s polyester and get ready to groove! We provide the energetic, costumed bingo callers, groovy tunes, and of course, the disco ball!

Relax at the Fountain – The Fountain serves beer, wine and sodas, and is a fun place for your group to gather on their final night.

Day 3

Breakfast with hiker bar – If some of your attendees need to depart before lunch, we can provide a ‘make your own brown bag lunch’  hiker bar at breakfast.

Final morning of meetings – Complete your agenda. Maybe plan outdoor team-building or breakout meetings. Stanford Sierra has numerous outdoor decks with tables and chairs.

Last chance for boating – Finish your meetings at 11am to leave time for a last paddle on the lake.

Lunch – Enjoy your last meal at Stanford Sierra on the dining room deck overlooking Fallen Leaf Lake; it’s a view that never gets old!

Before departure, be sure to schedule dates for your group’s next visit to Stanford Sierra!
