We know that a conference with an environment of wellness is important to you. Engagement, creativity, and connection blossom when wellness is made a priority at conferences. When conference attendees have the opportunity to cultivate their health and well-being, especially in a relaxing natural environment like Fallen Leaf Lake, they’re motivated, energized, and prepared for workshops later that day and week.
Here are options for creating a culture of wellness at your conference at Stanford Sierra.
Food that Fuels the Mind and Body
Wellness and health in a conference setting is about nourishing the body with energy-rich foods. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner spreads go a long way in helping conference-goers be present and engaged during intriguing presentations as well as for outdoor recreation, like hiking or boating.
Our experienced culinary team can help you create a conference menu of nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. View our sample menus for inspiration on what you’d like to serve during your business retreat.
On Site Activities
During your business retreat at Stanford Sierra, attendees can explore many on-site activities. These include:
Getting out in nature helps you relax and recharge. And fortunately, Stanford Sierra Conference Center is located right next to Desolation Wilderness and great hiking trails. Some of our favorite nearby destinations are Angora Lakes, Glen Alpine Springs, and Mt. Tallac. Want to plan a group hike or two during your meeting? Contact our team, and we’ll be delighted to help you select a hike that your attendees will enjoy. We can also provide a staff guide for most conference groups wanted a guided hike.
Explore Fallen Leaf Lake. At our dock, conference-goers can take out a variety of watercraft, which is a complimentary perk bundled into our all-inclusive conference packages. We have stand-up paddle boards, single and double kayaks, rowboats, pedal boats, and sailboats that include Hobie Cats and Lasers.
Step outside your cabin, and crystal clear Fallen Leaf Lake is right in front of you. From the shore, you might be able to spot a fish or two! Fallen Leaf Lake is home to Mackinaw, Brown Trout, and Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. Bring your own rod and tackle, or you can hire a fishing guide from Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters.
Tennis and Volleyball
During longer breaks between lectures, attendees can get outside, and enjoy some of their favorite sports, including tennis and volleyball. Our tennis courts overlook Fallen Leaf Lake, offering incredible views while doubles teams battle it out at the net. Over at the outdoor activity center, next to the horseshoe pit, conference-goers can get together for a game of volleyball on our regulation size sand volleyball court.
Yoga and Massage
If your conference attendees are interested in yoga classes and in-room massage treatments, our team can make arrangements for these services with advance notice.
